It’s not uncommon to hear that electronics can be “distracting” to families. In our house, I don’t view electronics that way. In fact, if monitored and used sparingly, electronics can be an amazing addition to help bind and strengthen your family bond. Yes, I said it, and I’ll say it again! Electronics can actually cause family bonding.
Until recently, our household had always been pro-cable. However, as the months passed, the bill started to rise and I began to realize that the cable bill was almost just as much as our food bill. Get outta town. I knew that there had to be something out there that could replace the huge bill we were paying each and every month and also be an addition to our family that was positive.
Electronic Additions that Can Benefit Family Time
If you’ve never heard of the Google Chromecast, you are in for a treat. It’s absolutely an electronic addition that can benefit family time because it’s versatile and easy to use. Plus, the versatility of how it can be used allows you to share anything and everything that you want with the other members of your family.
One way that it’s benefited our family is that it allows us to share what we love easily with others. With just the touch of a button, I can share what I’m watching or listening to with all my kiddos, to whatever TV they happen to be closest to. Then, once they are interested, we can sit together, watch together and talk about what we’ve viewed. Seriously, can family time get any cooler?
I’m also a huge fan of Netflix. (Who isn’t, right?!) If I come across a show that I think my crew will like, I just share it seamlessly for all of us to watch together. It’s perfect this time of year to catch some really cool Halloween movies or even some of those upcoming Hallmark Christmas movies!
One other cool feature? I get to use my “mom voice” and give commands to the Google Chromecast. If I want to watch a certain channel, I just have to tell it that. (and it listens the very first time!)
I can’t encourage you enough to find a way to cut the cord to your contracted cable. I mean, seriously…it’s 2018. Why is there even a need for a cable contract anymore?
Google Chromecast: Stream your favorite entertainment on your TV from all of your family’s devices. It’s seriously as simple as that.
Give your family a treat by introducing Google Chromecast into your household. It’s the perfect way to share, bond and maybe even binge of few of your favorite shows together as well. In my mind, any family time together is absolutely a plus!
